ROBOMO and the general public has been invited to the CIRC Bot Brawl 2008. Times are not listed on their website, you might want to email them to double check if you are driving out there.

Greetings from Central Illinois,

On behalf of the Central Illinois Robotics Club (CIRC), I would like to extend an invitation to ROBOMO for the 9th Annual Central Illinois Bot Brawl on March 29, 2008. It will be held at the Lakeview Museum in Peoria, Illinois. The events that we are holding this year include:
1lb RC Combat, 3kg, 500g, Lego Limited, and Lego Open class Autonomous Sumo, Line Following and Line Maze Solving.

A prize list is available at www.circ.mtco.com , there is a lot of them!!!

The event is FREE to the public as spectators. If you are interested in entering a robot, you can pre-register for $7 at Builders Database(http://www.buildersdb.com/eventdetail.asp?eventID=246 ) or $10 for walk-ins. Everyone is welcome to attend…if you are curious about robotics please stop by. Bring your current project, in any state of completion, for show and tell or to ask for help. Our members come from a wide range of professions and are more than willing to lend a hand.

Monthly Mini competition March


Our resident competition master, FlexwingMike, has announced that we will be doing the “Gap” competition again this month. There have been some interesting entries so far, including the mole trap jumper and a morphing Lego bot.

Game: Gap

Goal: The robot starts on one table. After a three second delay the robot moves from one table to the next over a one-foot gap. Robots must not fall off the table. The shortest time wins.

Robot:

• Autonomous
• 3-second delay
• 1-foot cube max starting size
• 15lb weight limit
• Build with any safe materials
