Monthly Mini competition March


Our resident competition master, FlexwingMike, has announced that we will be doing the “Gap” competition again this month. There have been some interesting entries so far, including the mole trap jumper and a morphing Lego bot.

Game: Gap

Goal: The robot starts on one table. After a three second delay the robot moves from one table to the next over a one-foot gap. Robots must not fall off the table. The shortest time wins.

Robot:

• Autonomous
• 3-second delay
• 1-foot cube max starting size
• 15lb weight limit
• Build with any safe materials

Mini Competition – Gap, pt. 2. See the Gap Mini Comp page for more info. **UPDATE** RobotWorx, a supplier of industrial robots and robotic automation systems has donated the prize for this month’s competition. More details to follow. I don’t think it will be a robot arm, but you never know!

In addition to the usual build/blow stuff up session, we are meeting at Jerry’s garage a bit earlier than normal to get his garage organized. Let’s try to show up at 5:30 pm, bring your favorite beverage for the fridge! We can spend a few hours together really getting the garage into a more usable state.
