February 2010 meeting

Hi all.

As you know, February is Rich's meeting and his topic is sensors. If you have a sensor that you are bringing to demo, post it here. I just finished wiring up the Parallax Ping sensor and LCD to my Arduino and it is working.

A big part of the meeting will be to teach how you are using the sensor, and how you program it in your microcontroller environment. So if you can, bring your laptop and plug it up to the projector to show how you do it. At the very least, bring a text file of the code and we can put that up on the screen. I'm going to bring a much better projector that has a higher resolution so we are not dealing with the worn out one at the library.

I'll bring a GP2D12 Sharp analog distance sensor that I have mounted on a calibration block made from foam board that is connected to an Arduino.

I'll bring a breadboarded PIC controlled one connected to LEDs and a speaker to express distance.
