I'm doing more plotting out on some projects, and one of them includes having the majority of decisionmaking by a robot done on a computer, not the controller onboard. This means of course being able to send back and forth data from various sensors and instructions from the laptop, with reasonable amounts of range and reliability.
I was looking at zigbee for this, but the dongles are the hard part--zagros has a zigbee thing for the arduino somewhere, but a dongle or other hardware for the computer is lacking. Zigbee is a fixed protocol, meaning that just about anything should be compatible, but is there anyone in particular I should look out for, if only to avoid?
I plan on messing some with video, but I think that's best tackled as a separate issue.
